Case Study: Fiat Punto Brake Fluid Leak & Repair

This case study details an advanced brake repair on a customer’s vehicle, demonstrating the mechanic’s ability to handle complex braking system failures right at the customer’s location.

Vehicle: Fiat Punto

Issue: A sudden and significant brake fluid leak

The customer called us after noticing a brake fluid leak. He needed an immediate on-site diagnostic and repair to restore his car’s braking system.

On-Site Diagnosis

The mechanic arrived at the customer’s location to perform a thorough inspection of the entire braking system. By carefully tracing the lines from the master cylinder down to each wheel, the source of the leak was quickly identified.

A flexi hose had popped off its connection with the brake line. Upon closer inspection, the root cause was clear: the metal brake line fitting had corroded, weakening the connection until it failed under pressure. This created a major leak, causing the brakes to fail.

The Repair

A full brake repair was carried out on-site to ensure the vehicle was safe and reliable. The process involved:

  1. Component Replacement: The corroded section of the rigid brake line was replaced with a brand-new one. A new flexi hose was then securely installed.

  2. System Bleed & Fluid Refresh: With the new components in place, a full ABS bleed was performed.

  3. Fluid Refill: The entire system was refilled with fresh brake fluid.

The Outcome

The repair completely resolved the brake fluid leak. The vehicle’s braking performance was back to normal. The customer’s Fiat Punto was made driveable again without the need of a recovery truck.

This case highlights how mobile mechanics can efficiently handle even the most critical brake repairs conveniently at the customer’s location.
